Xavi wanted United move?
Barcelona legend Xavi has admitted that he would have loved to have signed for Manchester United.
The 35-year-old, who now plays for Al-Sadd in Qatar, admits that the Premier League is a top attraction and he cited United as being his favourite side.
“To be honest, the Premier League attracts any player. It’s wonderful,” he told Eurosport.
“The stadiums, the grass, the fans, how they live football. Everything is wonderful.
“When it comes to the big teams, Chelsea, Manchester United, Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool, teams with history.”
Manchester United will axe Marcos Rojo in January if they can secure Bruno Martins Indi, according to the Manchester Evening News.
The Porto defender played under Louis van Gaal during his time as Netherlands manager, where he impressed at last summer’s World Cup.
Rojo is likely to be shown the exit after a string of fallouts with Van Gaal, which include fitness worries.
Martins Indi would be able to take Rojo’s place in the team as he can operate as both a centre-back and a left-back.
